Nevada consistently ranks among the most underserved states in most areas of healthcare delivery, both in urban and rural settings due in large part to shortages of physicians. The State, through Graduate Medical Education New and Expanded Program Grants seeks to meet its growing healthcare needs and grow its physician workforce by increasing support for graduate medical training.

    • UNLV SOM - Psychiatry Residency (Expansion Program) in Clark County. Awarded: $900,000
    • Valley Health - Infrastructure Development - 4 Programs (New Program) in Clark County. Awarded: $600,000
    • UNR SOM - Adult and Child Psychiatry (New Program) in Washoe & Rural Counties. Awarded: $500,000
    • UNLV SOM - OBGYN (New Program) in Clark County. Awarded: $1,300,000
    • UNR SOM - Internal Medicine (Expansion Program) in Washoe County. Awarded: $1,700,000
